For this week, continue to make basic observations of your tree. However also think about how you think your tree might contribute to the environment it's a part of and the human community around it?

Have you observed any changes or something new about your tree since last time?
How is your tree a part of it's surroundings?
What could impact the growth of your tree?
How does your tree benefit the environment around it (other plants, soil, animals, water, etc.)?
How does your tree benefit the human community around it?
Are there new thoughts you have about your tree based on what we discussed in class?

Comment with your room number as assigned letter.

I found a tree that was near Clark Park. It's near mill creek park, which is right next to Clark Park. It's not the tree I'm doing, but I'm commenting on the tree because I think it and it's surroundings are intresting. Some info on the tree before I tell about the surroundings. the tree's name is Blossom. She is a plum blossom tree. She blooms in early spring. Blossom is still blooming. She has frilly, pinkish white blossoms with golden yellow stamens. That's all the info I have about her. Now I will talk about the surroundings. There is a old, metal gate painted black bordering the yard. Growing ON the gate is a tree or something. It grows around the gate posts like a snake. That's all I have to tell.

My tree was pruned a little while ago, otherwise it would be bigger. It looks kind of stubby at the top of its branches. It looked better before. I think they could have done it better. I wonder if it is still 40 feet? My tree does not look too different yet. I think it will soon because the leaves will show more. My tree gives our street shade and oxygen. It is big and has lots of leaves, so I think it gives lots of oxygen when they come out. Some branches fell from my tree in some storms and I guess that is why they pruned it. i hope it helped.

My tree is 10 feet 9 inches tall. It is also 2 to 3 inches wide at the trunk. The way I measured it is by putting somebody in front of the tree and then you use your fingers and you take their length with your fingers and then you add more and more and more until you reach the top. My tree is part of the surroundings. It is easy to notice because of its red leaves in the spring. It is surrounded by lots of flowers and one holly bush and a huge tree near the sidewalk. My tree is also in front of a house.

My tree benefits the environment by letting little animals such as birds and squirrels hide from our pet cat. It provides oxygen to people.

One problem with my tree is it keeps getting ivy on it. My tree does not cause any problems. There is no difference in my tree from last week.

1)I don't think my tree might not contribute to the natural environment and the human community around it because my tree does not do a lot of things such as it can not give shade to people when it is hot .
2) My tree is part of its surroundings because everyone who walks by knows it is a help full tree.
3) My tree benefits the environment around it because there are other flowers and trees water and more.
4) My tree benefits the human community around it because many people who live nearby, they think that every tree is a helpful tree.
5) My tree is fine there are no problems with my tree.
6) There are no new observations I have about my tree based on what I discussed in class.

1. Since my last observation, it appears that buds are starting to
develop.
2. The tree is a part of it's surrounding by offering shade to humans. It provides shelter for many animals like birds and squirrels. And it is also a food source for animals and insects.
3. Too many dogs urinating on the tree may impact its' growth. Disease and fungi could also affect its growth.
4. My tree benefits the environment by acting as a food source for animals and insects. It also provides oxygen in the air and filters rain water. It also produces more seeds.
5. The tree benefits the community by providing shade which helps people cool in the summer and helps lower energy costs.
6. I wonder how many different insects and animals inhabit my tree.
