After selecting one tree to adopt for the month of March, please let us know:

  • The address or specific location of your tree (we will be creating a map of our adopted trees)

  • What your tree looks like and what type you think it is (You do not need to know the specific kind of tree yet just describe it if you can)

  • What is around your tree (Are there other trees, is there a building, is it on the street, etc.)

  • Why you chose that particular tree

My tree is in front of 4533 Larchwood Ave. It is directly in front of the house and in the front yard.
My tree has green and yellow leaves in the winter time. It is a hibiscus tree.
My tree is in a front yard and is not in the street. It is next to a green cylinder with a black lid.
I chosethis tree because it has been in my life for a long time.

My tree is on 8421 Anderson streets. It is an evergreen. It is about 20 to 25 feet tall. It has lots of branches. On each branch there are hundreds of green pine needles. It is green all the time, hence the name “evergreen.” It is directly in front of my house. I chose this tree because I can observe it all the time.

My tree is right outside my house. It's at the end of the sidewalk strait in front of my house. My house is 4223 Baltimore Ave. My tree is about four feet wide and about 30 feet tall. It has about four wide branches that attach to the trunk and about seven or so skinny ones that attach to the trunk. The branches go out very wide and very tall.
It goes into the cable lines on our block. The tree has many seed pods hanging from the branches. It is not an evergreen.
My tree is on the sidewalk in front of my house.
Not very far off is Clark Park, and where you go to cross the street to the park, there is a pizza place.
Also, at the corner of my block, if you don't go off and turn right, you will go to school. On the other corner is the Green Line Cafe.
I chose this tree because it has been one of my favorite trees for a long time. You can see its branches outside my bedroom window and you can make pictures with them. Soon enough, in the nighttime, that will carry you right to sleep.
This tree has soothed me when I have looked at it from my window when I was sad.

3/7/2013 02:42:20 am

my tree is super tall. In the spring and summer it has a lot of leaves and it is super cool but now in winter the bark is running low and without any leaves basicly it looks like a thick tall tree that has long twigs sticking out of it. When it has leaves it is great, the green leaves are like wet grass on a hot summer's day. And in the fall the warm colered leaves boost my spirit

Right now my tree is brown with no leaves. In June it will have green leaves and red cherries.
My garden is around my tree.My deck is around my tree.

My tree is on Larchwood and Melville Streets. It is over 20 feet tall and has no leaves because it is winter. It has light and dark bark. The trunk is so thick that it is growing into the sidewalk and into the street! This tree is located in front of my house. I choose this tree because it is the first thing I see when I walk out the door every day.

My tree starts with a thick trunk, but really thin branches come directly out of that. My tree has very crumbly bark, not all one piece. My tree is taller than a three story building. My tree is a Honey Locust, but it does not blossom pods even in the autumn. Around my tree is a planter with a few smaller plants in it. Around the planter are seven other planters, each with a tree in them. Some planters have more plants than others, but they all have one tree in them. I chose this tree because it is very close to my house and I can look out the window and observe it. It is a tall, strong tree and I thought it would be fun to adopt.

The tree I adopted is on South Melville street. It is a White Willow.I think it is but I am not completely sure. My tree is very, very old. It is any where between forty to fifty feet tall and four to six feet wide. It's foliage (leaves) are a mix of many shades of green and has three thick main branches that all the smaller branches and sticks come off of. The bark is brownish gray and has many grooves and ridges. It is so strong that it pushed up parts of the pavement and cracked it with it's roots!

My tree is on Osage between 46th and 47th.It is closer to 47th. It is between two houses.

My tree's trunk is 46 inches around. The bark is rough and dark brown. The bark overlaps a little. The leaves on my tree were small. In Spring it has black seeds that look like beans.

The things around my tree are grass, two decks, and an alley.

I chose this tree because it's near my house and I see it everyday.
