Week # 3 - Trees, Environment and Community

For this week, continue to make basic observations of your tree. However also think about how you think your tree might contribute to the environment it's a part of and the human community around it?

Have you observed any changes or something new about your tree since last time?
How is your tree a part of it's surroundings?
How is your tree good for or benefit the environment around it (other plants, soil, animals, water, etc.)?
How is your tree good for or benefit the human community around it?
Are there new thoughts you have about your tree based on what we discussed in class?

My tree lets others have fun,though I STILL have'nt fuigured out what kind of tree it is.My tree spreads oxygen and provides a home for birds.The branch that was cut out already grew a inch!!!

When my tree is in full bloom it helps make the yard look beautiful.

My tree is a home for bugs, squirrels, and birds.

My tree provides oxygen and shade for people.

There are no problems with my tree unless its roots are causing problems underground.

Some of my trees branches should be cut down.

When there is a lot of Wind the branches move and shake.

The Tree in front of my house is a home for squirrels and birds and ants.

In the summer it is a lot of shade and it keeps the area around my house cooler.

No I have not noticed anything different.

i figured out it is an oak tree.there is grass around it.it has shade,provides oxegen,and drops acorns for squirrels to eat.

My tree is helping the birds by giving them a place to perch on. And eat from the bird feeder and humming bird feeder.The cherry blossoms came early this year.there are already cherry blossoms on the tree.There`s still a few buds but they`ll be gone soon.

My trees branches are at least 2 long and it's trunk is 1 foot and the tree is over 10 years old.

Chericos s buds have opened up but there are still no leaves. My tree is a home for many birds, squirrels and ants. One of it s branches was cut out earlier because it was getting too long and almost reached the playground. It also gives shade and is cool in the summer. My tree is healthy and has no problems. I wish Cherico a long life...

My tree provides shade in the summer and it keeps my house cooler in all seasons. It helps absorb the water when it rains really hard. Some branches are falling down and causing damage. The roots of the tree are lifting up the sidewalk and making cracks in the sidewalk too. The tree makes oxygen. The tree makes the city cooler so we don't use as much air conditioning. One cool fact I learned is that I live on a street that was named after a tree. In the fall when the leaves fall off, I like to make art projects. In the winter I like to watch the snow cover the tree. I hope that the tree does not fall on my house!!!

When my neighbors first came in 1978 my tree was two storys tall .
1.It feeds the birds,gives shade in summer (for my next door neighbors,)privacy from the apartment building(for my next door neighbors,) and provides Christmas decorations for the neighbors (we never got one.)
2.It gives oxygen, saves electricity because it shades part of my next door neighbors house and makes the house cooler so they don't need the A.C. as high.
3.My tree provides shade so my next door neighbors can be outside when it's summer.Their daughter loved to climb it and sometimes ate lunch in the in the tree.
4.Neighbors complain about the falling in their yards (but I don't)
5. This week I noticed that one side of the leaves is dark green and shiny. The other side is a much lighter green and not shiny. I can see where old branches used to be. I think that makes it look like a climbing wall.There is a baby holly tree growing right next to it. I am going to see how tall the baby tree gets because I don't think it will get enough sunlight.

My tree has a change that the buds got bigger than last time. They kind of look like small brown peppers or small acorns.

My tree did not have a lot of leaves. My tree has no animals who lives in my tree. There are rocks,plants all around it(dog poup to).In the storm of harickane sandy(at night)my mom and dad herd a big thomp the elekchrisity was of that morning we found out.

My tree produces nice shade. It also is a home for animals and provides food for them. Its roots loosen up the earth so plants can easily grow around it. A problem is that because my tree can only grow one way (away from the library) it may get so heavy on the side that it grows that it falls.

The trees help us live by giving us oxygen to breath, shelter for animals, food for living things, and provide people with items made from wood. Some of these items include furnitures, paper, pencils, woods for cooking and/or for the fireplace.

My tree is one of many trees on my block. They make my street look beautiful. They help make the air fresh and clean for all living things. It provides nuts for the squirrels and pollen for the bees. The pollen makes my little sister's allergy worst. Her eyes get swollen, her nose keeps on running, and she sneezes a lot.

There are little buds that are growing on the branches of the tree. I can see little bugs living in and around the tree.
