After selecting one tree to adopt for the month of March, please let us know:

  • The address or specific location of your tree (we will be creating a map of our adopted trees)

  • What your tree looks like and what type of tree you think it is (You do not need to know the specific kind of tree yet just describe it if you can)

  • What is around your tree (Are there other trees, is there a building, is it on the street, etc.)

  • Why you chose that particular tree

My tree is on 511 South Melville St. I believe that my tree is a ginkgo tree. Behind my tree, there is a house. There are other trees around it, and a road in front if it. I chose this tree because it is small, so i will be able to notice some change. also, it is near my house.

My tree is located on Farragut street towards Chester Avenue. It is about 10 feet tall and it has many branches. At the ends of the branches, there is tiny little red buds so I will probably be able to notice some change. Around my tree is my house, which is next to an apartment building. My tree is planted next to the road also. I chose this tree because it is right next to my house, so I will be able to take multiple looks at it.

My tree is located on the east side of 46th St and Hazel. It is a Magnolia Tree. It is slender and as tall as a three story house. The Magnolia is on the sidewalk on my block so there are houses and other plants around it. I chose this tree because it is close to my house so it is easy to observe. Also, the Magnolia tree is an intresting tree because of it's big leaves and flowers.

My tree is in my back yard on 223 Saint Marks Sq.My tree is very wide and it goes into three wide branches. My tree goes into three branches at about the height of my waist. My tree has a hole in it that may have been an animal hole. My tree is not very high that's why even at the top of the tree the branches are not very skinny.Around my tree there are flowers and my trampoline.I chose this tree because it is in my back yard and because it's intresting.

My tree is located at 4201 Spruce Street. It is on the field at Penn Alexander School. It is a small size tree and the leaves are brown in color. My tree is by a bench in the field, and there is a walk way near the tree. The reason I like this particular tree is because it is colorful and it didn't loose its leaves in the winter.

My tree is near the intersection of S. Melville St. and Baltimore Ave. My tree is about 6 feet tall and is a hibiscus tree. In the spring it has white and pink flowers. My tree is in a small plot behind my house. In that plot there is a much bigger tree. I chose this tree because it is right outside my house. Also, I see it every day.

My tree is a Magnolia tree located in front of 428 south 42nd street. It is about 13 feet tall, and still has green leaves. the reason I chose this tree is because it is easy to see, and since I never decided to look at this tree, I thought it would be nice to observe the tree. We planted the tree when we moved to my house.

My tree is in my garden in front of my house. The things around my tree are a hedge made of smaller trees, rose bushes, and flowers. Soon it should have flower buds. The flowers bloom around late summer.

My tree's location is 40th Street closest to Walnut Street. The trunk of my tree is somewhat narrow and thins out even more as it moves out towards the branches. The branches and twigs are also thin and are presently bare. There are many different trees around this particular tree and they are all the same. This tree is directly next to the library and is located in the park called the Andrea Blum Plateau. I chose this tree because it looked a lot different than the others located on 40th Street, which were trees that appeared to have been there for a long time. My tree seemed to be one that had not been in the park very long because of its size.

My tree is located in University Mews. That is near 45 and Spruce.
My tree is about 30 ft. tall. It doesn't have any leaves right now. It has smooth bark. My tree is between two buildings. There is a big pine tree next to it. I chose this tree because a lot of birds roost in my tree. There are house finches, mourning doves, cardinals, robins, and juncos roosting in the tree. I also can see my tree from my bedroom window.

My tree is located on Spruce st. It's on my front yard. My tree has a few leaves on it. I also saw that there were little buds that means new leaves are coming. Some of the branches also fell off because of the wind. The tree looked dead but it wasn't. I also saw a few different populations.
