After selecting one tree to adopt for the month of March, please let us know:

  • The address or specific location of your tree (we will be creating a map of our adopted trees)

  • What your tree looks like and what type of tree you think it is (You do not need to know the specific kind of tree yet just describe it if you can)

  • What is around your tree (Are there other trees, is there a building, is it on the street, etc.)

  • Why you chose that particular tree

My tree is in front of my house, 42nd street, Osage Ave. My tree is wide, very tall, has many branches, and has a few greenish leaves. Around my tree is other trees, the street, and my house, my tree is on the sidewalk. I chose my tree because it is close to my house and it is tall. Today my tree looked casual. A few leaves, many branches, and it is still very tall. My tree is more than 100 years old!

It makes tons of cherries every spring and summer. It's in my back yard. It's near our patio. There are lot's of small plants and bushes in our backyard. I chose this tree because it would be interesting to be doing a cherry tree.

My tree is located around the corner my house on 215 south 45 street.I am not sure what tree it is. It is about 3 feet tall. It has no leaves but it does have many of branches. The tree was planted about 6 months ago. There is another tree near by the tree that tree is much taller and older it had a twin but that tree got cut down. I chose the tree because that tree was young so, it wouldn't die after like 1 year and it wouldn't be that tall that I couldn't get the branches and observe the leaves. The tree is about next door infront the store that is next to where I live. There is soil and compost around her space so she could get her nutrients and food.

#1: My cherry tree is located on the corner of 46th and Pine st.

#2: My tree grows cherry blossoms in April, sour cherries in May, and everything is sadly dead by June. when we harvest the cherries to make pie,we go on the roof to pick them. It has crooked branches, and we light up it all year with white christmas lights, which automatically turn on at night. Once, before we moved in, someone climbed up the tree, but because it wasn't very strong, and she snapped the branch off. Sap covers that area today. (the tree is fine)

#3: around my tree is a lot of ivy, which actually covers the whole front yard. there is a bush, which finally no stray kittens live in anymore, and there is a lampost. I can see it from many windows, and it is in front of my house, behind the sidewalk and street.

#4: I chose this tree because I enjoy picking cherries with friends in May, making cherrie pie, and playing in it's shade.

My tree is still very tall. The roots are all over the side of the sidewalk. The branches that are extending from out the tree are growing everyday! One branch is about touching my porch.Bark is falling off the trunk of the tree, some people are just peeling the bark from the tree. I will have to stop that.
