Week # 4 - Protecting our Trees!

This week continue to take notes on your tree observations. Think about what problems/threats might affect your tree. How could we help solve those problems or better protect and care for your tree?

Has anything changed since your last observation?
What things might be a problem for your tree and might have a negative affect on your tree's well being and growth?
What could we do to help the tree live long and continue to be a healthy part of our community?

1)Yes,and my tree is now a few inches more taller i think it has buds now.
2)The problem on my tree is all the litter and palution around my tree.
3)We could recycle and stop just being lazy and throwing our trash on the ground

My tree has grown some buds I think.

My tree has not grown since the first week.
The problem on my tree is that kids play on it and the littering around it.
We could stop littering and start to recycle and to throw it in the trash.

nothing has changed since my last observation. the leaves have been growing in a bit and the thin branches on the bottom are extending farther forward. nothing is really wrong that could negatively effect my tree. my tree would grow better if my community would all pitch in and help all trees grow healthily and productively. I think people care a lot about the trees but they just haven't done much to help them grow very well. i will try to talk to my block captain about having more block cleanups or group tree movements.

1)We can water it and give the tree new soil.
2)The buds of my plum tree are getting bigger. Some are starting to bloom.
3) As my tree gets bigger, it will rap around the fence. We could remove it, but the fence surrounds our backyard.
4)We can always make sure it has enough water, soil, and sunlight.

1. Buds are starting to appear.
2.the weeds in my garden.
3.Take care of it by picking up trash and weeds around it.
4.I think they think that it is always good to have another tree around.
5.I will hang posters around the community telling people to treat the enviorment correctly.

The buds on my cherry tree are larger since last week. I think that the recent drastic, crazy weather changes could be confusing to my tree and prevent it from continuing to grow as well. My family and I need to make sure no one climbs on our tree because the branches and limbs are weak. We also need to continue to harvest the tree and look for areas where pests could invade. I think people in our community appreciate our tree and its cherries. Our doorbell rings a lot in the beginning of June with requests to pick from our tree. Our family is an example in our neighborhood when it comes to taking care of urban trees because we are out in our yard frequently gardening and tending to our yard trees and plants.

1) The buds are getting larger and healthier.
2) There could be a drought, or litter or other plants could stop the tree's growth.
3) I could hand out or just tell people not to litter. I could weed frequently around the tree to keep away smaller pesky plants.

1)The buds are growing bigger.
2)The pollution and amount of sunlight it gets is a major problem.
3)We could water it during periods of little or no rain.
4)I think many people like it because it produces a fair amount of oxygen and it's very beautiful.

1) My tree has lots of tiny flowers and I think looks much greener than the last time I saw it.
2) A problem that might effect the health of my tree is littering.
3) I could make sure people do not litter or puor unhealthy oils or chemicals in nature.

1. buds are starting to appear.
2.I could give my tree new soil and water it and make sure any litter that is around it i will pick up.
3. Not having enough water sunlight and soil might affect my tree's well being and growth. Also having litter near by.
4. I can solve these problems by picking up the litter around my tree. Uprooting all the weeds near it so it dose not have to fight for the nutrients it needs.

My tree is not taller, but has grown buds over spring break.
The pollution in our neighborhood is hurting my tree and other trees.
We have to use more renewable energy, take public transportation or carpool, but mostly ride bikes or walk. We also need to recycle recyclable materials.

1) I see other plants and trees that are starting to bud. My tree might have tiny buds.
2) I think pollution and animals might affect the growth.
3)I can water it to help it grow and inform people that they should stop using cars and other vehicles as much as they do.

my tree has not changed but it has gotten thinner and it's leaves are dead.
