This week continue to take notes on your tree observations. Think about what problems/threats might affect your tree. How could we help solve those problems or better protect and care for your tree?

Has anything changed since your last observation?
What things might be a problem for your tree and might have a negative affect on your tree's well being and growth?
What could we do to help the tree live long and continue to be a healthy part of our community?

Comment with your room number and assigned letter.

There are no changes in my tree. Ivy grows up the side of the tree and twirls around it. Some of the ivy has died. My tree looks very nice because it always stays green and stands out from the other trees. Some of the beaches have been cut of maybe 2 years ago.

A problem or threat that might effect my tree is that it might not have enough space or nutrients. I can solve this problem by making sure it gets the right amount of space and water that it needs. And if weeds are taking the tree's food/water, they should be removed. A negative effect on this is that other plants are taking all of the tree's nutrients, and can effect its growth. To help my tree live long and be a healthy part of our community, I can pick up all the litter and trash around it, so that it doesn't get into the soil and the tree's roots.

1.One bud is opening this week!
2. My tree has a disease and I think it might be dying.
3. One thing we did to help it was cut off the branch that was diseased. We are thinking about calling an arborist.

1. No, there hasnt been any changes.
2. Things that might be a problem for my tree is that a storm can knock it over and people cutting downthe tree for construction.
3. What we could do to help trees live longer and stay healthy is to prevent people from causing damage to the tree and keep the ground around it clean from trash.
4. I think other people in our community feels glad about my tree because it provides shade and clean oxygen.
5. I will communicate to others in our community the importance of appreciating and caring for urban trees by telling them it provides food and supplies we all use.

No, there aren't any changes to my tree.
Some problems that happened to my tree is that I think it is a little unhealthy because it's roots are sticking up out of the ground. I want to get a closer look at the roots to see if the tree is unhealthy. My tree is important to my house because it provides shade and decreases the amount of heat in the city. I think that trees are important to the community because they provide shade, shelter, and other materials.

My tree started to grow some buds.

One negative effect is the roots can swirl around the and then suffocate the tree.

We can put up fences around the tree so nobody and nothing will trample over the tree

Nothing has changed sense my last observation. Something that might hurt the tree is if people cut it down or people don't trim it and it gets to close to the wires. People could trim it and it will stay healthy. Also we can make sure the the roots don't strangle the tree.
