We are answering questions asked in week#1 today (sorry)!
1)In the alley between Osage and Pine and 46/47th streets
2)It's really big and has lots of branches. It has lots of roots, too -- sticking out from all sides. It has lots of big bulges sticking out of the trunk.
3)There is a porch and a house touching the tree and it is in Dana's backyard. And it almost hangs over the opposite side of the alley.
4)Because I can go to it everyday, and it's big, and it's a cherry tree, and I like cherries. And it is beautiful when it blooms. When the flowers fall off of it, it looks like it is snowing.

My tree has not changed since last week. But I just noticed that one
branch either fell off or got chopped off which is bad for the tree. On the tree there are the roots (underground), a trunk (short), branches (lots of them), leaves/flowers (not yet grow in spring). My tree has many different details including one that I learned in a book
which is that it has white and pink flowers.

1. Yes - the tree is wet and is growing green moss
2. Yes - the roots are grabbing three bricks like a big octopus grabbing three fish. You can only see half the bricks with your eyes, and if you tried to pick them up; there is no chance it will break free from the roots.
3. A very tall trunk, there are many fat branches, but there's also many skinny branches.
4. I don't remember having any new thoughts about my tree since class
5. My guess is it would take about 5 or 6 measuring sticks to make it as tall as the entire trunk? You could use a tape measure to go around the trunk. My guess is it would take 4 or 5 tapes.

2.No, I did not see anything new.
3.It is a medium size. Plants grow on it. There are insects on it.
4.No, I do not.
5.I would measure it up and down with a measuring tape. It grows little by little.

Yes.

3. Describe the different parts if your tree.
It has think branches and a thicker trunk, but the trunk is not very thick.
4. Do you have new thoughts about your tree based on what we learned in class?
My tree needs sun and water to grow.
5. How might you measure your tree or describe your tree's growth?
I have to look up to see the top of my tree. I can measure my tree trunk with a tape measure. I want to do that tomorrow.

Changes: Seeds falling from pods.
New things noticed: a nest without birds (but somebody still lives there) and "belly buttons" on the trunk of the tree.
Description: Tree has trunk and branches, no leaves, seed pods, and the nest. That is all.
I learnt in class that if there would be not trees, there will also be no clean air.
How to measure tree or describe its growth: one side of the trunk was 10 inches, if you think of the trunk of the tree as a square.

1) yes, the fuzzy buds are opening and there are dark brown things coming out
2) same as #1
3) trunks, branches, roots, buds, bark
4) no
5) you could measure the trunk width and the height with a tape measurer (because this tree is not that tall yet)

My tree, "Blaze" is 70 inches tall and 1 inch around. There are no changes to the tree. I noticed my tree is still too small for birds to live in it.

I learned in class that my tree is a dogwood. I can follow its growth because of the leaves and the flowers. Since I've lived here, it gradually started giving shade to most of my backyard.
