For this week, continue to make basic observations of your tree. However also think about how you think your tree might contribute to the environment it's a part of and the human community around it?

Have you observed any changes or something new about your tree since last time?
How is your tree a part of it's surroundings?
How is your tree good for the environment around it (other plants, soil, animals, water, etc.)?
How is your tree good for the human community around it?
Are there new thoughts you have about your tree based on what we discussed in class?

Comment with your room number as assigned letter.

Responses from week 2:
changes: yes, bigger buds
didn't notice before: the tree was wet (it was raining)
different parts: big roots sticking out of the ground, a really, really long trunk, the branches look like curved and straight lines, going down really far. You can touch them if you stand on stones.
new thoughts: no new thoughts
measure tree: measuring tape

Responses from week 3:
contribute to the human community: toilet paper
we have a block party when all the buds are on the tree
it gives us shade in the summer when it's hot

benefit the environment: the roots hold the dirt in place so it doesn't fall into the ocean. It gives squirrels a home. There aren't that many plants around it

benefit the community: gives us shade

problems: it could fall onto somebodies house or someones porch.

. However also think about how you think your tree might contribute to the environment it's a part of and the human community around it? I learned that trees are lungs of the planet because, its breathes in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen ( we researched on a website about trees !). trees help shade your house on hot days because it hides the sun, which also saves energy. we don't need a fan or air conditioner.
How is your tree a part of it's surroundings? it is in the middle of a giant bush.
How is your tree good for the environment around it (other plants, soil, animals, water, etc.)?it protects the bush. it helps us breathe better.
How is your tree good for the human community around it?it gives us oxygen. it makes our world pretty.
Are there new thoughts you have about your tree based on what we discussed in class?the tree is too tall for me to climb, My tree skinny. The tree has no leaves because its too cold.
